Gutting the basement
We cleared out the area in order to gain access to the walls, corners where walls met basement floor and cleared basement slab for new wood floor.
Dry track in place on basement perimeter
100 feet of dry track was placed on the perimeter of the basement. This plastic track traps water and filters it to the sump pump.
Cementing over dry track
Stephen cementing over dry track perimeter of basement securing drainage system.
Corner dry track
Dry track can be inserted at any angle to make sure the entire perimeter is secure.
Cement on dry track corner
Now that everything is leveled off, the next step is to install a nice looking finished flooring over the dry track and cement layer.
New cement around sump pump
After the hole is dug and the bucket is in place, we can cement around the sump hole and the dry track around the basement perimeter.
Pre Sump pump input
The hole is dug out at the lowest point in the basement so water can easily be collected by the sump pump and removed from the basement.
New sump pump installed
The new sump pump is placed in the prepped hole and is now functional to remove all excess water from basement.
Sump pump exit
The excess water in this NE Portland basement was of medium severity. A super pump was installed in this case which has a single pipe leading away from the home.
More sump pump piping

Outside pump pipes
End location of the sump pump pipes. Leads right to the driveway so it can flow down into the street and the normal sewer systems.
New finished walling and flooring
The project is almost complete by adding in the new walls and flooring. What a transformation from beginning to end.
Finished basement
Hardwood floors, new walls, drainage system and sump pump are all installed and this is what the final basement looks like. The only thing left is to get some new furniture in there.
Total Basement Finishing
Another great picture of the total basement finishing project. This is the main room of the finished basement, bathroom and laundry are to the right. Everything looks amazing.
Laundry and utility room
The laundry and utility room received a face lift as well.
Main room view
Here is a picture from the first and main room of the finished basement.
New basement window installation
TerraFirma typically does not do windows. These were special ordered at the customer's request and we were more than happy to install them for him. Looking good. And a huge improvement from the old single pane windows.
