A realtor that we work with closely wanted to help his client get the most for their home on market. In a movement for green building, energy efficiency and high performance homes, we were called to tackle their old and cold crawl space. This crawl space is relatively clean compare to some of the others we've worked in. There was no standing water or smell of mold, but that wasn't the goal of the home owner and realtor. They wanted to transform this crawl space from this (above), to a space that helped regulate temperature throughout the home, have easy access to electrical and plumbing utilities and for storage (below). This is how we transformed the space.
Three products were installed to make sure this home owner and realtor achieved not just some, but all of their goals. With Cleanspace Liner (white), which is a 20 mil, 7 ply liner, home owners can successfully control temperature and moisture levels. By keeping the air in the crawl space at a consistent temperature and moisture level, the air that sneaks out into the home doesn't need to be filtered, cleaned or heated, saving money on energy, while making the home more comfortable. Since the area is clean and tidy, access to all electrical and plumbing utilities is much easier and less messy. It's also a much more confident looking area for storage without the fear of bugs or moisture ruining valuables. Not all solutions are created equally, and not all installers are alike. Make sure you are using the best company and the best products on the market for all your home projects. It is your largest investment after all.
