    For Longview, WA home owner Betty H., her addition in 1962 is causing her problems 50 years later. The addition is an 8' by 30' room and has settled almost 6" in the worst spots. This is significant and is a health hazard.     As inspected by System Design Specialist Ryan Lahley, a 10 push pier and 4 Smart Jack system was designed to permanently stabilize Betty's add on foundation. 10 push piers were installed around the perimeter of the foundation. Once driven to proper depth and achieved adequate capacity, the weight of the home was fully resting on the piers which were anchored in sufficient load bearing soil.

    As for the interior settlement portions of her home, Smart jacks were installed under the load beams that had also began to sink. By re-supporting the load beams we eliminated the sagging and that "bounce" when walking through the room.

    With one system we were able to permanently stabilize Betty's foundation and re-support her interior settlement issues. She can be sure that her house won't be settling anymore.

Cracks are forming in the walls above a widows and in the corner on the second floor. More cracks appear in the bathroom under the stairs on the first floor.
