Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

The state of Washington is known for its heavy rainfall, and that fact is still true in Issaquah. Like most homeowners, this couple had lived in their home for ten years but never bothered to look at their crawl space. After seeing one of our commercials, the homeowners decided to give TerraFirma a call to schedule to their free inspection, so they could learn for themselves what's happening under their home.

When our System Design Specialist inspected their crawl space, he noticed water pooling throughout, which means that water that was flowing into the crawl space had nowhere to exit.

After talking to the homeowners, our Specialist advised for them to waterproof their crawl space by installing a Triple Safe SumpPump for drainage, and VaporLoc Elite lining and drain tile matting to help prevent moisture from causing water damage to their wooden joists.

With its nearly 7ft ceiling and its wide open spaces, this Portland crawl space was vulnerable to a wide variety of problems, including pest inhabitation and frequent flooding in the winter. After dealing with their crawl space problems for years, the homeowner finally decided to gain peace of mind by calling TerraFirma.

Our System Design Specialist, Erik Keyes, quickly came to evaluate the situation. He concluded that the crawl space would need VaporLoc Elite, one SmartJack, A TripleSafe Sump Pump, and two MoistureLoc dehumidifiers to prevent future mold. With a plan set, Nick Maszy and his production team came to the home to start the project.

By the end of the week-long job, TerraFirma installed nearly 4,000 sqft of VaporLoc, removed nearly 4,000 sqft of insulation, and replaced one wooden post that had weakened from constant water damage with a SmartJack.

This Tualatin crawl space was riddled with groundwater that was producing high humidity and mold throughout the area. Eventually, the mold and humidity made it up to the first floor of the home. Once that happened, the homeowner did the right thing and gave TerraFirma a call!
