    Foundation Repair Pleasant Hill

Foundation issues can lead to significant damage if ignored. Homeowners in Pleasant Hill, OR may notice signs like floor cracks, bowing walls, or sagging floors, which could indicate more serious structural problems. You might also encounter sticking doors, windows that don’t close properly, or gaps between the walls and ceilings. These issues often signal that your foundation is shifting due to soil movement, water damage, or simply the wear and tear of age.

At TerraFirma, we specialize in foundation repairs in Pleasant Hill, providing expert solutions designed to address the specific issues affecting your home. Our process starts with a thorough inspection to identify both the extent of the damage and its root cause. From there, we will recommend one or more of our effective foundation repair systems tailored to meet your needs:

    Foundation piers

In Pleasant Hill, OR, our push and helical piers are expertly designed to stabilize and elevate your foundation by distributing its weight to deeper, more stable soil. Helical piers work best in areas with familiar soil conditions, while push piers are ideal for places where soil stability may be uncertain. Both solutions are minimally invasive and provide long-lasting results.

    Wall Stabilization Systems

For cracked, bowing, or leaning walls, we offer a suite of reinforcement products. These include:

    • CarbonArmor®: Made from fiber-reinforced polymers ten times stronger than steel.
    • PowerBrace®: Zinc-plated steel beams that can be tightened over time.
    • GeoLock® Anchors and Helical Tiebacks: These systems halt inward movement and gradually straighten walls over time.
    • EverBrace™: Designed for severely deteriorated walls, this system replaces and reinforces failing foundation walls with steel supports.

We also offer grouted micropile tiebacks for difficult soil conditions, SmartJack® crawl space support posts for sagging floors, and vapor barriers to manage humidity and prevent further moisture damage.

Every solution comes with professional installation, ongoing maintenance options, and transferable warranties, so you can feel confident and at ease in your Pleasant Hill home.

    Basement Waterproofing Pleasant Hill

Having a wet basement can result in mold, mildew, structural issues, and poor air quality in your home. Signs of water intrusion in Pleasant Hill may include musty odors, stained walls, standing water, or efflorescence—a white, powdery residue that forms when water evaporates. Even a tiny crack in your basement wall can turn into a significant entry point for moisture.

TerraFirma provides top-notch basement waterproofing solutions in Pleasant Hill, ensuring your space stays dry, healthy, and functional throughout the year.

In Pleasant Hill, OR, we create tailored drainage systems that efficiently direct water away from your basement and into sump pumps, safeguarding your foundation.

WaterGuard®: Our most popular system, it’s installed below the floor slab and above the footing to prevent clogging.
DryTrak®: Ideal for monolithic foundations where jackhammering is not feasible.
FlowGuard®: A thin-floor drain system used in basements with thin concrete slabs.
TrenchLock™ Inserts: Block ground air from entering while allowing water to drain.

We offer several sump pump options tailored to your water exposure:

TripleSafe™: Three-pump system for maximum protection, including battery backup for power outages.
UltraSump®: High-capacity battery backup pump that activates when the main pump fails or power goes out.
SuperSump®: A single-pump system for homes with minor water issues.

VaporLoc Elite: A heavy-duty wall liner that stops moisture and mold while directing water into drainage systems.
SaniDry Sedona & XP: Energy-efficient dehumidifiers that remove up to 109 pints of moisture daily, improving air quality and comfort.

Our SunHouse™ Window Wells and WellDuct® Drains keep your basement bright, dry, and free from debris, while meeting egress codes for safety.

Waterproofing in Pleasant Hill, OR not only safeguards your investment but also converts your basement into a secure, functional extension of your home.

    Earthquake Retrofitting Pleasant Hill, OR

Pleasant Hill is situated in an active seismic zone of the Pacific Northwest. Homes built before the updated building codes introduced in the 1990s may be particularly at risk. Even a minor earthquake could cause a home to shift off its foundation or suffer significant structural damage.

TerraFirma’s earthquake retrofitting services help secure your Pleasant Hill home to its foundation and strengthen its ability to withstand seismic events.

Retrofitting your home for earthquakes in Pleasant Hill not only enhances safety but can also lead to lower insurance premiums and deductibles, plus the chance to qualify for coverage that wasn’t available before the upgrade.

    How We Retrofit

    Assessment & Planning

In Pleasant Hill, OR, the retrofitting process kicks off with a thorough evaluation of your building’s current condition. A qualified professional, like a structural engineer or trained technician, will assess your home to pinpoint any weaknesses and suggest the best solutions.

This evaluation involves assessing the foundation, walls, roof, and overall structure of your home. Afterward, our engineer will create a thorough retrofitting plan tailored to the findings.

    Foundation Bolting

Securing the foundation is an important step for homes in Pleasant Hill, OR. Our technicians install anchor bolts to firmly connect your house to its foundation, helping to prevent any lateral movement in the event of an earthquake.

Our process starts by drilling holes into the foundation and inserting steel bolts. Our skilled team tightens these bolts to reinforce the structure, boosting its stability and making it more resilient to potential seismic activity.

    Adding Shear Walls

Shear walls play a vital role in earthquake retrofitting, helping to distribute seismic forces and ensuring the safety of structures in Pleasant Hill, OR.

Shear walls are usually made from plywood or other sturdy materials, and they are strategically placed throughout your home, especially in vulnerable areas like cripple walls. These walls add essential support and stability, helping to minimize the risk of damage during an earthquake in Pleasant Hill, OR.

    Bracing & Reinforcing

Next, our team strengthens essential areas of your Pleasant Hill home with durable steel braces and straps. These are carefully installed on key structural elements like the roof, walls, and floors. This important step enhances your home’s stability, providing a robust framework designed to withstand seismic forces.

    Securing Applicances

By securing your appliances, you can create a safer living environment in Pleasant Hill, OR. Anchoring essential items like water heaters and refrigerators is key to safety. Our technicians will also install protective measures for gas meters to help reduce the risk of gas leaks.

    Reparing Foundations

During retrofitting, technicians may notice substantial foundation damage that needs immediate repair. Adding crawl space support posts and foundation piers, and stabilizing the walls are some of the ways TerraFirma can reinforce your foundation.

A fantastic company, staff and did excellent job on my house.
Very happy with the results. The actual workers were tops. Only negative was the planning with the utilities. NW naturals said gas should have been turned off during lift.
Terrific folks, personable professionals that know what they are doing.
Just had clean out of old duct work and old insulation, etc. plus encapsulation of my crawl space. The crew worked really hard and professionally throughout the 5 day process and the foreman kept me informed along the wife. Have worked with Terra Firma on several occasions: pier placement and jacks for house, french drain in crawl space, and replacement of sump pump, etc - alll involved from the estimators, the office personnel, and work crews have
    been excellent throughout.
Excellent customer service from begining to end, excellent communication and overall the best
Terra Firma came out in cold conditions to level bldg slab and exterior sidewalk. Skyler the tech was great at communicating arrival times while driving in icy conditions. He was also great at communicating the process and was always friendly in answering my questions. They have professional tools and equipment to manage the work. Very satisfied and many thanks.
From beginning to end, we experienced professional attitude and work ethic.
All the employees we interacted with were pleasant. They finished the job in two days even though they ran into an issue. All work was completed and cleaned up very nicely. We are pleased with the finished product. It is reassuring to know we will NEVER have water intrusion in our basement ever again!
Skylar was wonderful to work with. Was very professional and did a great job with raising our concrete pad.,
Crew did very fine job stabilizing sinking corner part of my house thanks to Mike and his colleagues.
It took awhile to schedule due to them not having enough employees to cover Oregon and Washington. We had this done 10 yrs ago by them to the part that needed it and back then they didn’t tell us that the rest of the house could shift. I wish back then they could’ve put the piers all around the house so all they would have to do is just adjusted it because this time around the expense to do the whole house was something we didn’t expect and opted to do the part that really needed it the most. When we do sell our home, this will be something that we will have to disclose.
