James' Homeowner Reviews
Seth, awesome job on lifting my garage floor… it’s been a few months now and everything is looking great. Would recommend Seth on any job site, his professionalism and expertise can’t be ignored… Thanks James
I can’t say enough about each and every person I worked with, from our wonderful sales person who first came to our home, to those who made my appointments and especially the great work of James Taylor, Byron Butler and Jose Hernandez.
After I bought a 115 year old house built partially into a hill near the top of Council Crest in Portland and discovered that the walls bled water when it rained, two walls were built into a hill and had endured the pressure of water and mud for a century, causing cracks and turning the foundation to crumbles, I called Terra Firma when an neighbor with an old house told me about her experience. Terra Firma has a great reputation. During the first meeting, Hannah walked the property and made a detailed proposal, explaining how Terra Firma would ensure that the walls do not cave in by shoring them up and anchoring them, supplemented with a vapor lock system to keep the water out of the house. NO MORE MUSTY SMELL, THANK YOU! Hannah explained the plan thoroughly, using her iPad to ensure that I understood. It could not get any better than this...I signed the paperwork immediately and contracted for the foundation repair and upgrade. This week, Geovany and his team spent four days working very hard and very smart to finish the project on time, and without any hitches. And they were working hard, very thoughgoing and steadfast.
I am extraordinarily pleased with the work of the TerraFirma team, and how they did it. It is obvious by looking at the work that my basement walls are solid, secure, and dry.
THANK YOU TerraFirma!
Terra Firma is a fantastic company! My wife and I recently moved into our new home and discovered problems with the foundation and drainage. We got a lot of recommendations for how great Terra Firma was so we decided to give them a call. From the first phone conversation with Ashley, the project coordinator, to the final walk-through we have been extremely happy with their work. Ashley Haney carefully listened when we explained our problem and confidently reassured us that Terra Firma would take care of everything. She was always available to answer any questions I had. Dan Lane came out to do the initial inspection and evaluation. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and very kind. As he explained the proposed job, he inspired our confidence in Terra Firma. Joel Montoya was the supervisor. He was here at the site almost every day. In addition to supervising, Joel also worked with the crew in a hands-on manner. Jorge Valencia was the foreman and his wonderful hard-working crew were Jose Valencia and Tarin. Jorge was AWESOME! He was careful, considerate, particular, and an excellent communicator. Luis & Sebastian installed the outside drains perfectly. They explained the process in an easy to understand way. Michael and Michael operated the excavator with skill and precision. Jorge and Joel communicated with us every step along the way. They made sure we understood what they were going to do and answered any questions we had. Jorge and his crew arrived on time every morning, and every evening when he left, Jorge debriefed us and explained what he had done that day and what he planned to do the next day. Their crew installed outdoor perimeter drains, added Smart Jacks, a support beam, encapsulated our crawl space, and added a dehumidifier. They cleaned up perfectly after the job was completed. Jorge used his artistic touch to make sure the yards were left in beautiful condition. He made our soggy side yard look so much better than it did before they started the job. He even laid sod to cover the lawn area that the excavator dug up. They all treated our home like it was their own home. They went above and beyond our expectations! Jorge, Joel, Jose, and Tarin along with Dan, Ashley, Luis, Sebastian, Michael, and Michael are top notch and we highly recommend them!!
Terra Firma recently completed a foundation lift involving 18 push piers and 3 helical. My home is situated on the Columbia River with a sloping hillside down to the river. I couldn’t be more pleased with the end result, all completed as proposed in the original estimate and time frame! The installation crew dispatched out of the Vancouver Washington branch, James Ragsdale, Roberto Burgos and Antonia know the business and were a pleasure to work with. Bruce McPeak
Small kind pricey, but the crew (James Taylor, Harley Harper, Nick Strode, Jose Valenica, and a few other that I missed) was solid and on point, even finish early. Solid job and they kept job site clean.
Thank you Terrafirma and The two gentleman that came to our house. My whole experience with your company was great. Everyone that I worked with were very helpful and polite and knowledgeable. The gentleman that came to the house to lift our porch knew exactly what to do and how to achieve it ( our porch is huge by the way ) I didn't think that they could get it back to its original level but that's exactly what the accomplished. Once again great company and people to work with, I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that needs any kind of work like this done.
Job was on time, on budget, explained completely at each step and the crew (Jose H, Matt A, Ivan, Steven and Manuel) were meticulously clean through each day and cleaning up at the end of the week. Great experience overall, highly recommend.
Phillipe oversaw the crew- he was tremendous! Thanks all!
We had TerraFirma out to work on our foundation six months ago and were very pleased with the experience. We had a pretty big project on a home built in 1900 and the company worked with us to divide it into phases so it wasn't so financially overwhelming. Phase 1 included crawl space encapsulation, replacing old wood columns with smart jacks, carbon fiber stitching cracks, installing a dehumidifier and a sump pump with drainage line. After starting the work they realized some components that had been in the contract weren't needed and they quickly had me sign an addendum that would lower the cost of the project. James Taylor, the lead was great to work with, always explaining their plans for the day, progress they had made and ensuring that we were pleased with the work. The crew was right on time every day for two weeks. They were clean and courteous. They were set to finish a day early but found some water entering the basement while they were wrapping up. James called his supervisor and they set to work installing a section of drainage system that was unplanned. They did this at no additional cost because they said that is what they were hired to do and it was the right thing to do. I was shocked by this because it is hard to find a company and crew off workers that will stand by their work like that. Terra Firma might be more expensive than other quotes you get but it was the first time I have felt that a company genuinely cared about the quality of their work and they treated my home with respect. James and his crew (Byron, Alex, and Jake) went way above and beyond to make our basement a better and more useable place. They certainly could have just done the minimum that was agreed upon but they didn't and they will get my business for any future needs because of it. Our unfinished basement and crawlspace is now clean, comfortable and dry. The work was transformative. I highly recommend this company.
TerraFirma did an excellent job resolving our foundation crawl space flooding problem. The TerraFirma crew (Louis, Jose, Jorge, Nick and James) we're friendly, polite, professional and very hard working. I highly recommend TerraFirma and would have them work for us again.
James and his crew were efficient, kind, and exceeded my expectations. My foundation was needed piers both outside and in the basement, yet they were quick and cleaned up. I even noticed a change in my home’s interior when it was fixed! Cracks closed up. They took care of the whole process, including permits and inspections. And, James communicated, including walking me through, clearly listening to my responses.
I recommend TerraFirma, especially James who was the foreman on my job, especially to those who want to be respected, want to understand what is happening, and want good communication throughout the job.
Eric did a great job assessing the issue and recommending a solution. Very professional. The foreman, James Taylor, and his crew mate, Chris Raycraft, we’re also extremely professional and efficient. They did a great job with the work, we’re on time both days, and explained everything patiently and thoroughly. Highly recommend!
