CRAWL SPACE ENCAPSULATION
Crawl space encapsulation is a process that seals the area beneath a building to prevent moisture and improve air quality. Crawl space solutions include installing a moisture barrier on the ground and walls, sealing vents and other openings, and adding insulation panels.
Implementing crawl space encapsulation in the Portland and Seattle areas is vital to protect homes from costly repairs, ensure healthier indoor air, and enhance energy efficiency throughout the year. Crawl space solutions are especially important in the Pacific Northwest. This region endures frequent rainfall, which immensely increases the risk of moisture accumulation in crawl spaces. Therefore, the goal is to create a dry environment that reduces mold growth, pest infestations, and structural damage.
1. Clean and prepare the space
2. Ensure proper drainage
3. Seal and insulate
4. Drainage matting and vapor barrier liner
5. Double tape seams
6. Control air humidity
Crawl SPACE SUMP PUMPS
Sump pumps are commonly used in crawl spaces and basements to remove excess water that may accumulate due to groundwater infiltration, high water tables, or flooding. Our products are designed to keep your crawl space dry while making your life easier.
TripleSafe™
Sump Pump System
Providing three levels of protection for your crawl space, the TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System is designed for your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe™ has a powerful, Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump will take over. In case of a power outage, our UltraSump® battery backup sump pump will pump 11,500 gallons or more on a fully charged battery.
Advantages
- ⅓ hp primary pump can discharge 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head.
- ½ hp secondary pump can discharge as much as 3,900 additional gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head.
- In the case of a tripped circuit, power outage, or sump failure, your TripleSafe™’s UltraSump® Battery Backup System will kick in.
- Can support a second battery to achieve extended running time.
UltraSump®
Battery Backup System
The optional UltraSump battery back-up system can be added to the SuperSump as additional protection in case the power fails. The battery backup will automatically kick in and begin removing water from your crawl space, preventing a flood. The UltraSump® system can pump out in excess of 11,500 gallons of water on a fully charged battery.
Advantages
- Once the power is restored, the UltraSump will automatically recharge
- Comes with an alarm in case of power failure, sounding when the backup pump is running and silencing when power is restored.
- The alarm also protects you in case the main system is accidentally unplugged
CRAWL SPACE
DRAINAGE MATTING
& vapor barrier
Crawl space liners rest directly on the crawl space floor. If your crawl space is flooding, water can be trapped underneath, never making it to your perimeter drain.
The raised dimples on our drainage matting gives the water flooding into your crawlspace a channel underneath your crawl space liner. This directs the water flooding your crawl space to your perimeter crawl space drain and sump pump system.
CRAWL SPACE
DRAINAGE MATTING
A crawl space vapor barrier is an excellent way to keep water and moisture from your crawlspace, but it’s also important to drain away flooded water that collects underneath. By installing drainage matting, your crawl space is protected, and water is directed to your drainage system.
Advantages
- Appropriate to use on crawl space floors of all types, including concrete and dirt surfaces.
- Compatible with all our other crawl space products, including our crawl space insulation
- Available in “XL” for areas with extra heavy flooding or unusually rough terrain, providing extra durability and larger drain channels.
VAPORLOC
Elite Crawl Space Vapor Barrier
VaporLoc Elite is a 100% waterproof, 120 mils thick plastic liner that is perfect for unfinished crawl spaces preventing leaks and mold growth. This crawlspace liner creates a clean, dry, sanitary, usable area. With correct installation, it can insulate your crawlspace and reduce energy costs.
Advantages
- Greatly reduces musty smells, with an EVOH layer that seals out odors.
- Reduces allergens such as mold and dust mites, improving indoor air quality throughout the home.
- Seals out soil gasses while eliminating excessive, destructive moisture, which could lead to wood rot.
Crawl SPACE
DEHUMIDIFIERS
Due to its proximity to the ground, installing a dehumidifier in the crawl space can help address moisture problems at the source, preventing issues such as mold growth, wood rot, and structural damage. A dehumidifier in the crawl space allows you to control humidity levels in an area that is usually harder to ventilate or maintain.
SANIDRY SEDONA CRAWL SPACE DEHUMIDIFIER
With its small size, the SaniDry Sedona easily fits in small crawl spaces.
This high-performance dehumidifier and filtration system, without a bulky heat exchange core, is the world’s most efficient dehumidifier.
Advantages
- Automatic drainage and humidity sensing
- Filters mold spores, dust mite droppings, dust and other particles
- Removes up to 95 pints of water per day moving over 300 cubic feet of dry air per minute.
- It can be ducted to reduce noise levels
