    Foundation Repair Hood River

Foundation issues can lead to significant damage to your home if not addressed promptly. If you’re in Hood River, OR, keep an eye out for warning signs like cracking floors, bowing walls, and sagging floors, as these may indicate deeper structural concerns. You might also notice doors that stick, windows that struggle to close, or gaps forming between your walls and ceilings. These issues can signal that your foundation is shifting, often due to soil movement, water damage, or the natural wear and tear of time.

At TerraFirma, we specialize in foundation repairs in Hood River by providing tailored solutions that address the root causes of your foundation issues. We start with a thorough inspection to identify the extent and source of the problem, and then we recommend our proven foundation repair systems to get your home back on solid ground.

    Foundation piers

In Hood River, our push and helical piers are designed to stabilize and lift your foundation by transferring its weight to deeper, more stable soil. Helical piers work best in areas with known soil conditions, while push piers are great for spots where soil stability is uncertain. Both options are minimally invasive and provide lasting solutions for your home.

    Wall Stabilization Systems

For cracked, bowing, or leaning walls, we offer a suite of reinforcement products. These include:

    • CarbonArmor®: Made from fiber-reinforced polymers ten times stronger than steel.
    • PowerBrace®: Zinc-plated steel beams that can be tightened over time.
    • GeoLock® Anchors and Helical Tiebacks: These systems halt inward movement and gradually straighten walls over time.
    • EverBrace™: Designed for severely deteriorated walls, this system replaces and reinforces failing foundation walls with steel supports.

We also offer grouted micropile tiebacks for difficult soil conditions, SmartJack® crawl space support posts for sagging floors, and vapor barriers to manage humidity and prevent further moisture damage.

Every solution comes with expert installation, flexible maintenance options, and transferable warranties, ensuring you can have confidence and peace of mind in your Hood River home.

    Basement Waterproofing Hood River

Dealing with a wet basement in Hood River can create serious issues like mold, mildew, structural damage, and poor air quality in your home. You might notice musty odors, stained walls, standing water, or efflorescence—a white, powdery residue that appears when water evaporates. Even a tiny crack in your basement wall can turn into a significant entry point for moisture.

TerraFirma provides top-notch basement waterproofing solutions in Hood River, ensuring your space stays dry, healthy, and functional no matter the weather.

We create custom drainage systems that effectively redirect water away from your basement and into sump pumps, safeguarding your foundation here in Hood River.

WaterGuard®: Our most popular system, it’s installed below the floor slab and above the footing to prevent clogging.
DryTrak®: Ideal for monolithic foundations where jackhammering is not feasible.
FlowGuard®: A thin-floor drain system used in basements with thin concrete slabs.
TrenchLock™ Inserts: Block ground air from entering while allowing water to drain.

We offer several sump pump options tailored to your water exposure:

TripleSafe™: Three-pump system for maximum protection, including battery backup for power outages.
UltraSump®: High-capacity battery backup pump that activates when the main pump fails or power goes out.
SuperSump®: A single-pump system for homes with minor water issues.

VaporLoc Elite: A heavy-duty wall liner that stops moisture and mold while directing water into drainage systems.
SaniDry Sedona & XP: Energy-efficient dehumidifiers that remove up to 109 pints of moisture daily, improving air quality and comfort.

Our SunHouse™ Window Wells and WellDuct® Drains keep your basement bright, dry, and free from debris, while meeting egress codes for safety.

Waterproofing in Hood River, OR not only safeguards your investment but also turns your basement into a safe and functional extension of your home.

    Earthquake Retrofitting Hood River, OR

Much of the Pacific Northwest, including Hood River, is in an active seismic zone. Homes built before the updated codes of the 1990s may be particularly at risk. Even a small earthquake can cause a home to shift off its foundation or suffer significant structural damage.

TerraFirma’s earthquake retrofitting services help secure your Hood River home to its foundation and strengthen its ability to withstand seismic events.

Upgrading your home with earthquake retrofitting in Hood River not only boosts safety but can also lower your insurance premiums and deductibles, and help you qualify for coverage that wasn’t available before the upgrade.

    How We Retrofit

    Assessment & Planning

In Hood River, the retrofitting process kicks off with a thorough evaluation of your building’s current state. Our experienced professionals, including structural engineers and trained technicians, will inspect your home to pinpoint any weaknesses and suggest the best solutions to strengthen it.

This evaluation looks at the foundation, walls, roof, and overall structure of your building. Afterward, our engineer creates a detailed retrofitting plan tailored to the results.

    Foundation Bolting

Securing the foundation is the crucial next step in our process. Our technicians install anchor bolts to connect your home to its foundation, ensuring stability and preventing any side-to-side movement during an earthquake.

In Hood River, we improve the stability of your home by drilling into the foundation and installing sturdy steel bolts. Our team then tightens these bolts to reinforce the structure, making it more resilient against seismic activity.

    Adding Shear Walls

In Hood River, OR, shear walls play a vital role in earthquake retrofitting by helping to distribute seismic forces and ensuring the stability of your home.

Shear walls, often made from sturdy materials like plywood, are strategically placed throughout homes, especially in vulnerable areas like cripple walls. These essential supports enhance stability and strength, helping to minimize the risk of damage during an earthquake.

    Bracing & Reinforcing

Next, we enhance the key areas of your home in Hood River with sturdy steel braces and straps. Our team installs these to vital structural components, including the roof, walls, and floors. This important step boosts your home’s overall stability, creating a robust framework designed to withstand seismic forces.

    Securing Applicances

Securing your appliances can make your home safer for everyone in Hood River. It’s crucial to anchor items like water heaters and refrigerators, and our technicians can also install safeguards for gas meters to help reduce the risk of gas leaks.

    Reparing Foundations

During retrofitting, technicians may notice substantial foundation damage that needs immediate repair. Adding crawl space support posts and foundation piers, and stabilizing the walls are some of the ways TerraFirma can reinforce your foundation.

Great company. They have done several projects over the years. Always good work ethic! Hard work! Cleaned up, put things back, all good
Five Star to the Aris's team who worked on site! My project was stuck and the boys drive all the way from Vancouver up to Seattle to rescue. When I met them for the first time, I was deeply worried because those boys look so young! However, I was quickly impressed because the young boys really rock! They are super friendly and polite, they are energized and work so hard, I can tell they are proud of their craftsmanship and really care about your property. Kudos to Brad, Aris, Jose and Rudy! For the overall experience, there was a huge gap between sales team and production team, be prepared that you may not get any material/product like what the sales person showed to you, I did a lot of research on their product and that was the main reason I selected them, however, I did not get any of the product with specification that were promised, so this is quite disappointing - but I understand this is not really sales or field technician's fault...
Overall, they did a great job. Very easy to work with very professional. The guys who came to my house were great. They were very friendly and very kind. The foreman was exceptional. The individuals I talked to on the phone were very professional, very nice. They worked with me and got things done when I could get them done. I would recommend them to anybody.
Thank you Andrew K for doing an excellent job smoothing out our sidewalk. There were extra challenges because of tree roots but Andrew thoughtfully came up with effective solutions and minimal grinding. He was on time, efficient, and very helpful. A job well done!
Very impressed with the person who came and did a thorough inspection. He provided multiple options and estimates. I had a few jacks placed under the house after noticing structural changes in my home. The team that came to do the repairs worked so well together, didn’t make a mess and were very professional. I was happy with everyone I worked with.
Antonio, Jesse and Kamron did a very thorough job on leveling my manufactured home. They were very professional in the process and now my doors and windows operate like they should. Gentlemen, I want to congratulate you on a job well done. Thank you, Cameron Gibson
Last year our house flooded due to rising ground water in a daylight basement that we had assumed was sealed and waterproof. Well it wasn't! We hired Terra Firma to do a waterproofing job that included drain lines below ground, drain track around the inside corners, and a sump pump. Our install team (Andrew, Zach, Joey, and Kayden) were amazing. They arrived on time every morning, worked hard all through the day, and were done ahead of schedule. They answered all of our questions and even helped us plan the best way to resurface our finished basement floor so any future water damage would not create long term damage. We could not be happier with Terra Firma and our amazing install crew. Five stars for sure.
Brian was great, super friendly and professional. He gave us a very thorough bid after completing an extensive inspection.

I had Terrafirma come out to repair my broken and cracked patio. Ken Lomax and Dorian McDonald were fantastic. They were communicative, did great work and...
Just had our annual inspection/maintenance check on our sump system, and the tech Steve-o did a great job. Unlike the tech the previous year, who barely even glanced at the system before charging $180 bucks for the service, Steve-o inspected every part of the system, removing and doing a full inspection/cleaning of each pump. He gave us thorough explanations of what he was doing and any issues he found, and gave us several options for continued maintenance going forward. Huge improvement over the previous year. Update (12/17/2025): During this morning's crazy wind storm we lost power at 2am, and unfortunately our battery backup sump pump was at the end of its life and the motor died. We scrambled to get our generator running in time to avoid disaster, but in the meantime we were without a battery backup with more storms on the way this week and holiday travel where we were planning to be away. I left an urgent message at probably 3am for TerraFirma, and got a call back from Lucinda at maybe 7:30. She managed to find a tech to come out this afternoon, who apparently came up from Roseburg to help with today's issues. The tech Jason was able to get a new backup, a new battery, and new controller box. Huge peace of mind for the coming weeks. No one loves an unexpected bill before the holidays, but I'm grateful to Lucinda for making it happen and Jason for getting the work done quickly for us. TerraFirma continues to do us solid. Thanks!
